How do Greyhounds get on with other Pets?
It is the experience of most rescuers that less than a third of ex-racers are incurable cat-chasers. This is a known and unfortunate fact, but you must realise that these dogs have been trained, almost from birth, to chase small fury objects running away from them. They may have never seen any other creatures other than their greyhound kennel mates and their adult human handlers. So other dogs may seem strange to them, it is always advisable to introduce different animals to your greyhound under strictly supervised conditions, to allow them to get to know each other slowly, and over time. Most greyhounds will quickly get "socialised" with other dogs and pets, and without too much flying fur...
How do Greyhounds get on with Children?
Most greyhounds couldn't eat a whole one, but they could lick them for ever! That's what I have heard said about some greyhounds... Most greyhounds, as has been mentioned, may never have seen small humans, before, especially ones that just love to play, and when they do they love it. Of course we will try to let you know if you new dog has any known problems, with children, or otherwise.
