HELP! - Wanted...
As a non-profit making organisation, we find that we are always in need... of money... of helping hands... of ideas for raising money... and of cash! (though not necessarily in that order)We have a hardcore of about a dozen people who seem to end up doing just about everything between us, from answering emails to fostering dogs for a week or two. It often seems like a never-ending story, so we would ask you to search your hearts (and your wallets, too!) to see if you can help out in any of the ways noted below:
We always need people to:
- Help walk the twenty-five or so dogs in our kennels near Alnwick, just an hour or two to give a few dogs a breath of air and let them stretch their legs. Or, if you have experience in socialising dogs, your take them into Alnwick to start getting used to the big wide world!
- To join us at our Meet n Greet days, with your own greyhounds, to talk to people and help to raise their awareness of how wonderful greyhounds really are as pets, and to help generate adoptions appointments for our coordinators to follow up.
- To help our cash flow by raising funds in our name, like did Kathryn on the Great North Run - many thanks once again.
- Set up standing order donations, just £5 a month will help (£10 would be better!), especially if enough of you do it!
- Take in dogs for fostering or socialisation prior to adoption. Please note that this should not be undertaken lightly as some dogs need 24/7 care and attention and we need people who fully understand the needs of greyhounds, as opposed to just dogs in general!
